KITTIE To Team Up With AOL MUSIC For Listening Party
January 24, 2006AOL Music and KITTIE have teamed up to do a full-album listening party for the "Never Again" EP starting February 7 and running for one week. They will be streaming the three-song version of the EP, and will be featuring the EP for one full week. Check out the AOL Music listening party page at this location. A live version of a new KITTIE song, "This Too Shall Pass", recorded in November 2005 at Harpo's in Detroit, Michigan, is available for viewing at this location. KITTIE, which features sisters Morgan and Mercedes Lander (guitar/vocals and drums, respectively),Trish Doan (bass; ex-HER),and Tara Macleod (guitar; ex-SHERRY),have sold over one million records in the United States since the release of their debut effort, "Spit" (Artemis),in 2000.
KITTIE, who parted ways with guitarist Lisa Marx and bassist Jennifer Arroyo in early 2005, split with longtime label Artemis Records in March 2005 "due to a proposed amendment to the recording budget for the pending fourth KITTIE album," according to a post on the band's web site. The group's most recent CD, "Until the End", was released in July 2004.
KITTIE will be teaming up with EVERGREEN TERRACE and CALICO SYSTEM for a U.S. tour beginning in April. KITTIE will also be playing WRIF's pre-Superbowl bash at TNT's in Detroit, Michigan on February 4. The event is sponsored by Jagermeister, Coor's Light and WRIF. Tickets are $12 advance and $15 at the door. TNT's is located at 35101 Harper Ave., Clinton Township (Detroit),MI.
